President of UD Supports Dance Marathon For the Kids

Flyerthon: (n.) a 13.1 hour-long dance marathon where University of Dayton students stand in representation of the hardships patients at Dayton Children’s face on a daily basis, while raising funds and awareness for the hospital.

Around 10:00 pm, Flyerthon was beginning to slow down, the final hours of the event were creeping closer, and Dr. Spina, President of the University of Dayton, attended the event with two of his cousins. For a hefty fine, Dr. Spina threw his cousin in “jail”, a dance marathon staple where attendees donate to restrict someone to a corner of the room until they are released by fundraising double the initial donation.

Dr. Spina with two of Dayton Children’s Miracle Kids

Dr. Spina proved he was truly “FTK” (for the kids) when he donated over double the initial donation his cousin made. Dr. Spina embraced the philanthropic spirit of Flyerthon and truly made miracles happen for the kids at Dayton Children’s with his commitment to supporting UD’s dance marathon.
