Chinese Cuisine and Charity: How The New Panda Express Is Changing Kid’s Lives One Penny at a Time

The clock on the computer hits 11:30 and right on cue, your stomach is growling; begging for a huge helping of sweet and savory orange chicken, perfectly cooked fried rice, and of course, a crunchy fortune cookie that seems to mysteriously know your future. Suddenly, the perfect restaurant to visit during your lunch break pops into your brain: Panda Express. You might know Panda Express for their delicious variety of Chinese entrees, but did you know that Panda Restaurant Group has a long history of donating to children’s hospitals?

Nationally, Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. has been a partner of Children’s Miracle Network since 2007 and has raised $11.7 million through their coin donation boxes and Associate Giving campaign! Panda Express locations nationwide visit their local CMN hospital to bring food, treats, and smiles to our youngest champions and their families.

The restaurant at 5381 Cornerstone North Blvd opened in September and has already done amazing things for the kids at Dayton Children’s. By collecting extra change in their donation boxes, almost $1,000 has been raised in the four short months they were open- and that’s only in 2016! We are so excited to see what 2017 brings the kiddos at Dayton Children’s, and cannot be more thankful and appreciative to locally-owned and operated restaurants who give back to the community they belong to.

If you do head to the Centerville Panda Express, use the #PandaExpress #PandaCares and tag @DaytonChildrens in your post to show your support for the kids!
