Walmart Kicks-off Campaign with Back to School Donations

Walmart and Sam’s Club in the Dayton area had their annual Children’s Miracle Network campaign kickoff on August 1, and donated more than 150 backpacks filled with school supplies to kids at Dayton Children’s!

Every year the Family Resource Connection at Dayton Children’s receives hundreds of calls from area families who need a little help getting their kids ready to go back to school. Thanks to Walmart and Sam’s Clubs in the Dayton region,  these resources were provided to 150 kids so they can head off to school ready to learn.

In addition to their fundraising campaign from Aug. 27 – Sept. 30, Walmart and Sam’s Clubs donated 100% of the school supplies that were handed out, and store associates volunteered their time to help at the back to school event, which took place at the hospital. Information about child safety and health was also provided, thanks to the community relations team.
