Play Games. Heal Kids.

Heroes are popping up everywhere. These heroes are the ones joining the Extra Life movement. You may be wondering, “What is Extra Life?”

Extra Life is a 24-hour gaming marathon in support of Dayton Children’s Hospital. Participants fundraise year-round and pledge to game for 24-hours with one mission in mind: to save and improve the lives of sick and injured kids right here, close to home.

A few of our most dedicated Extra Life volunteers put their heads together to plan an event that would benefit the Extra Life program at Dayton Children’s. The event was MAGIC: THE GATHERING! The event was held at Epic Loot Games & Comics in Centerville. One of our patient ambassadors, Brandon came out to the event along with his mom, Teresa. Their smiling faces and vibrant attitudes helped connect the cause with the event Saturday afternoon.

With hard work and dedication to helping the families and children at the hospital, the event was a HUGE success. The collaborative effort raised $1,331.00 in just an afternoon of playing. The funds raised go directly to purchase new and improved technology to ensure the highest quality of care for our patients.

Dayton Extra Lifers are making a difference. They are touching the lives of so many others by turning their empathy into action. Want to learn more? Visit extra-life.org.
